A little bit about yourself--where are you from? What do you like to do?
I am originally from Fort Mill, SC. I enjoy hiking in the North Carolina mountains. I am a beekeeper, I also enjoy collecting and polishing rocks. I enjoy photographing nature.
Favorite thing about teaching or working at Sullivan?
My favorite thing about working at Sullivan is working with and getting to know the students. No two years have ever been the same. The dynamics of each student's personality creates a unique learning environment. I enjoy helping my students understand principles of science, but also, I never fail to learn new things from the students.
What is your "genius" or "Superpower"?
I can build students' confidence in problem solving by breaking down information and relating it to their everyday life. We celebrate failures as well as successes, because if you are not making mistakes, you are not trying. I appreciate my students differences and talents. I encourage them to do the same with their peers.
